Dean “DL” Leeson
|
New York, NY (July 31, 2012) --- Australia native, Dean “DL” Leeson has been announced the winner of the coveted “Song of the Year” of the 15th annual John Lennon Songwriting Contest for his original composition, “Until Today.” DL will be awarded $20,000, in addition to a ton of other prizes he's already taken home.
DL is the JLSC's first Hip Hop Song of the Year Winner and when we asked him what his goals were as a songwriter he had this to say:
“...to continually grow and get better at what I do. I've been writing for about 15 years...I want to be able to share the music I make with everyone for a number of reasons. Mainly, I want them to be able to relate to the stores, to understand the music I make and the art of Hip Hop.”
A total of over $275,000 in cash and prizes will be distributed this year by the year-round contest open to both amateur and professional songwriters. Visit www.jlsc.com to listen to DL's winning song, download his photo and enter the current contest.
