Chrisse “Mam’Afrika” Feros Better Way www.sonicbids.com/chrisferos.com
Chrisse Feros, born in Australia to Greek parents, is aware of the pain that so many suffered from the devastation of war. She turns that awareness inward and fuses the contemporary sounds of today with the ancient rhythm of traditional chants. Better Way was written as a prayer for peace in war torn regions. She was honored to perform at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney in front of 30,000 people and was selected to perform at MIDEM. In Australia, Chrisse works with over 300 students a year at her voice training workshop, VOICEWORX. This September she will be touring central Australia with The Drummers of Toumba Toramba, conducting workshops and concerts with indigenous children and adults in drug and rehab programs. This Is How I See It is her current album, distributed in the U.S. by Converge Records/Sumthing Distribution. She is currently working on a new CD, Chrisse ‘Mamafrika’ Feros is Mantra Dub which is scheduled for release at the end of 2005.
