Scott Routenberg Bandwidth Miami, Florida A professional jazz pianist, Scott Routenberg is currently completing a second Master of Music degree at the University in Miami. He holds one in Jazz Piano Performance and is working on his second in Media Writing and Production. He plans to begin his studies for his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Jazz Writing in the Fall of 2005.He has also studied with Brazilian pianist Manfredo Fest and modern jazz composer Ron Miller. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Scott earned a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Music and Communications in 2001. Bandwidth is the result of his desire to write a hybrid jazz big band/electronic composition. This is not Scott’s first win in the JLSC. Last year he was a Runner-Up in the Electronic category. He is also a two-time winner of the ASCAP Young Composers Awards (2003 & 2004), winner of the Hilton Head Jazz Society Performance Scholarship (2003), First Place winner of the 2004 Audio Engineering Society Surround Sound Competition and he was a composer participant in the 2004 Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles. He has played at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland, the Vienne Jazz Festival in France, and the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Currently, he leads The Scott Routenberg Trio, has written music for the short film “The F Word”, and released his hybrid jazz/electronica CD Lots Of Pulp.
